U2 mittens- cool or just plain crazy?
« on: January 17, 2009, 09:25:58 AM »
I mentioned in another thread that I was knitting a pair of U2 mittens.  They are Nordic-patterned mittens in old-school HTDAAB colors- red and black.  I've finished one, and I want your opinion on it.  My family thinks this is a little crazy, but it amuses me.   ;D  If anyone would like to put their name in, I will give them away to one lucky @U2 forum member when they are finished.  If more than one person wants them (and I realize that maybe nobody will want them), I will pick a name at random.  I will warn you, this pattern runs a little small.  (So guys, you're out.)  Here is a picture of the one I've finished:  You are not allowed to view links. Oh yeah, feel free to ignore the pictures of Pyrex.  That's another of my weird obsessions.  I belong to a Pyrex collectors group on Flickr.

Hi Angel!
With your birthday approaching, perhaps you could request a set for a birthday present.  ;)

Nicely done, as I knew they would be. Count me in for the drawing.

And I just have to know, have you ever been to the Corning Museum of Glass?

Awww, thanks guys.   :)  You're all so sweet.  See, I knew you all would appreciate them.  (Joe, do you always point to your hand when people ask where you live?  Doesn't work for me.  I'm off the map!)  Yes, Starfish, that is actually me hiding behind my mitten.  I didn't realize my hair looked so spazzy.  Must be this dry winter air.   :(  I won't keep them for myself because: a. i can always knit another pair, and b. my daughter said they were geeky!  I should be done tomorrow or Monday.  Then I'll put your names in a (Pyrex) bowl and pick a winner!  (Eurydice, is there really a Corning Museum of Glass?  Where?  How exciting!  Uh-oh, now you all know what a geek I am!   :-[)
