Bloc Party!  That would be awesome.  I just saw them in concert.
Airborne Toxic Event, they are good live too.

What about Gaslight Anthem?  Anybody like them, they were AMAZING live.

I though Airborne Toxic Event would be good live but they put on one of the more disappointing shows I have seen. I know I initiated this thread, but I have picked my choice for opening act.

Ferry Corsten, complete with New Year's Day remix

They were awesome in Edmonton.   In a weird sort of happy way they ended up opening for Coldplay here so I got to see them anyway.   I loved their set.  I felt like I just wanted to go for a pint with them at the gig.  I love Run.

An old timer such as myself would love to see Clannad. I have never seen them live before and U2 used to play Harry's Game at their concerts. Bono did a duet with them so they have a connection. Clannad are legends and amazing Irish musicians but can also do very contemporary things. I don't know if anyone else would care at all, but for me it would be an amazing evening of music!

I wouldn't mind a blast from the past with the Alarm even though I know that won't happen. For those too young to remember, this band ranked as high as U2 for their emotional live shows. They were nothing short of amazing and complimented U2 's style of music as an opening act in those days. You did not leave the same as when you went in to that show. Legendary!

I think either if these two would be as amazing as any contemporary band but I don't think younger fans would really be interested in either of them.   Oh well......I can dream.  ;)

SG, it is really starting to freak me out how many common interests we have.  :o I was blown away the first time I saw U2 live and they played Harry's Game, it is such a spine tingling track. I saw them here when the toured with the Macalla album and it was a gerat show, as you say they could do Celtic Folk and more contemporary easily. I've still got my vinyl edition of Bono & Clannad doing In a Lifetime too, so you have my vote. SM

Please not Glasvegas! I saw them at Wembley 2 and disliked them so much I couldn't face watching them at Cardiff.  Scissor Sisters I'd quite like to see.

I couldn't agree more I had to endure this rubbish twice too. Really, I just don't get what the fuss is about with the music press bigging up this band. I have seen u2 11 times and have always found the crowd to be warm and open to the support acts but Glasvegas were a total flop. The Hours who are less known and less experienced were fantastic and they did a great job up there.  Just goes to show that the proof is in the pudding! NME can blow sunshine up a bands ar*e as much as it like and the 'cool' kids can slag U2 off as much as they like too but when it comes to it it's all about whether a band can cut it live and Glasvegas did not! Although watching their drummer was quite entertaining as she looked like our mate Dave! I would love to see Snow Patrol again, I think that the Script were great in Dublin and I would like to see them again, Elbow were astounding so yes yes yesy to them again. But for someone different..... mmmmmm The Temper Trap, MGMT ( especially as when Time To Pretend comes on the PA a 360 show you know your only 3 songs away form showtime, so it's become a bit of a 360 memories type song) The Pogues ( how much fun would that be!!) Porcupine Tree, Empire of the Sun.

DALTON BROTHERS... yeah, that would be awesome but it really wouldn't work for this tour. Too bad. Ha ha, that's be soooo awesome, though.
