I was gonna pick my own country! Damn.

I've always been intrigued by Iceland. It appears to be an amazing and a magical place. In some ways they're just different but as a whole they seem so interesting. Would love to go there some day.

Yeah, pretty much sums up most of Eastern Europe. Even in a relatively well developed country like Slovakia it has endless corruption, and so I am told by a relative.

No, not even close. Moldova in particular is pretty much the scrub-bucket of Europe.

It's natural to have the "everywhere else is better than here" mentality.

I havent been to them all yet so how do I pick??

I picked Italy because it was the best of the following countries, which are the only ones I've been to thus far in my 35 years:

- US (where I live...)
- Canada
- Mexico
- Germany
- Italy
- Netherlands (just Amsterdam, though, so I'm not sure that's representative of the whole country, though I did love Amsterdam)

I loved Germany, though, too.

My next trip is either going to be: Greece, Australia, UK and Ireland.

Now why would I want to go to Ireland, I wonder? ;)

I don't have a favourite country. No country is inherently superior to any other- and I wouldn't vote for mine even if I could. Every country on Earth has STAGGERINGLY large flaws and problems which need transformational, fundamental reform. And 99% of them also have lots of really good points. Anyone who believes that one nation is by nature "superior" to others needs their head seriously examined. There's a point where nationalism and patriotism overwhelms common sense and that's about it.

My favourite to *visit* is probably the USA, but I like an awful lot of countries for an awful lot of reasons. :)

EDIT: Of course, that would all be relevant if it was "What is the best country?" but isn't particularly relevant to "What is your favourite", in retrospect. Apologies for pretension. XD Umm... probably the USA but I haven't voted them because I'm not sure!

The countries I've enjoyed the most that I've traveled to are Denmark and Austria.  Been traveling to Europe for about 20 years and unfortunately one negative affect I see of open borders is less and less distinguishing features for individual countries and cultures.  But Salzburg and Vienna are beautiful places I really want to go back to and the same goes for Copenhagen and Arhus in Denmark.  About to embark on a 10 week backpacking trip to India which will be my first time traveling outside of Europe and know i will be seeing some pretty amazing sites and expect i'll experience some culture shock.

Amsterdam is awesome. But it looses points for the drunk/high guy who questioned my femininity due to my low, sultry voice.... The guy hit a nerve and therefore Amsterdam suffered.
Been to Holland many many times and typically stay with friends in Utrecht and Nijmegen.  I can't stand Amsterdam.  I thinks its a disgusting cess pool and each trip has only reinforced that for me.

Poland.  On my bucket list to go. I'm 75% percent Polish.  Extremely pro-American. They put up statues of Reagan in town squares. Happy nation-state with wonderful people. Maybe I can find a wife there.
