Title: New Album April 2014?
Post by: Vox on October 23, 2013, 10:39:01 AM
That's what this article says.  Also makes it sound as if the"Ordinary Love" will not be on the new album.  Several direct quotes from Dave Fanning.  Sorry if this is posted someplace else, but I didn't see it.  http://www.independent.ie/entertainment/music/no-ordinary-life-u2-write-new-song-for-mandela-story-29687968.html

We might not hear the first single until February then. Here is an interesting quote from Dave Fanning about the new album:

Quote
"If it's anything like the last album 'No Line on the Horizon fine by me, but I'm not sure everyone else will be pleased," Fanning added.

In this tiny corner of the world(this forum), that would be an understatement.

Would you mind sharing? I have no idea what you are referencing, and I would like to know. What happened?

The performances were really good, but the appearances were cringeworthy.

April? Why so late...
I'm not sure if April is a solid date anyway... I honestly think it makes more sense to go much earlier. I was really expecting February.

Yeah... it feels like one of those times the band gives a general time of year and some genius goes and chooses a month from it.

It was just too much promotion. Why do you think thy are so hush hush this time round? It was like being smacked over the head in retrospect. Plus it was released in so many formats which was unnecessary.

I don't know... that top 10 still cracks me up, as does the "ask U2" segment where they give some hguy some advice on how to fix his funrnace and the snow shovelling moment... those still kill me. In a weird way, it was very Monkee-ish if you ask me... but no one's asking... oh well ;-)

Well, I never found Letterman the least bit funny and the top ten was about as uninspired as it gets, so to each their own...

Edge: "I really suck at guitar hero"

Fair enough :-)

bear in mind it could still be 6 months away (if these reports are to be believed)

fair amount of talk going on from sources about something that hasnt been actually finished. plenty of time for the promotion to ramp up.
