Title: Question about Tickets
Post by: The Exile on December 08, 2014, 10:33:39 AM
Does anyone know if U2 will be taking the approach that Radiohead took last time I saw them, where you need to present the same credit card at the door that was used to purchase the tickets?

Help!

Thanks....

So if I missed out Monday morning I'm pretty much SOL?

At most venues for this tour, that's only the case for GA. You can get the reserved seating on Stubhub or whatever without having to show the credit card.

It might vary by venue / location, but in the UK at least it seems that for GA you need the card used and ID (tickets aren't being sent out at all!) but for seats it's normal paper tickets.

Paris they are sending out tickets. For GA and seats alike.

Yup, this is going to be confusing. Some legit people are going to be denied.

NYC had the option of paper tickets even for GA, but not everyone saw that option at checkout. They added more NYC shows, so now you can buy  tickets come next Monday the 15th if you aren't using a U2.com membership presale code and buying on the 12th. I'd bet some people might want to switch dates now that more are added. If those people receive paper tickets, that's an option too.

Per Sherry's article on the home page, the scalpers figured out how to work around the paperless ticket issue. So really again the fans are losers in this. I knew something stunk when on Monday there were IMMEDIATELY resell tickets coming up on Ticketmaster! Grrrr!!

I signed up for a membership hoping to get cheaper more reasonable seats for the pre-sale.  Since I'm new, I can't look for tickets for Chicago until tomorrow.  Is it possible I could still get GA tickets?  Didn't know if they would all be gone by then.

I think you'll be fine. Paris - which was one of the heaviest shows in terms of sales - still had GAs at the end of the pre sale period. Everyone in Chicago by now is probably too cold to type.

Also, do you have to present the credit card you purchased the tickets with at the gate?
