Title: Songs to lead into Streets
Post by: Evil Bono on December 07, 2008, 03:41:32 PM
On my iPod playlist I have One Tree Hill before WTSHNN and it sounded like it would make a great lead in for the live show.  Anyone else have a better idea?

I'd like it to go Please into Streets, like in Popmart imo.

I think the best song to lead into 'streets' has got to be 'Please' like on the Popmart tour . Also All I want is You is one of my favourite leads into 'streets'. they'd be the two I'd put on my i-pod .

Please and Bad were amazing.  I am hoping for an amazing song from the new album to capture the soul of the end of the first set and have that lead into Streets, just like Please did for Popmart.

Mercy.

Or something [else] from the new album.
Otherwise, I'd give my right arm to hear the Bad-streets, or Please-streets transitions live.

Bad would be best.

Please from PopMart also works.

I'd kinda like to hear COBL leading into Streets. Seems like a natural.

I say keep on swapping them, one night you have Bad into Streets, then the next have Please into Streets, then COBL into Streets and then keep on going in that order.

Or how about going back to starting the show with Streets? It's very unlikely it'd happen again but maybe it could be done for the encore - just for nostalgia's sake!

That would be amazing - starting the encore with Streets.

I also really like how they did Running to Stand Still into Streets in Zoo TV. That live version of Running is incredible, I remember when I first saw it at Earls Court in London. A very powerful, beautiful segue.

Honestly my favorite was on the Boston DVD.  The transition was beautiful.

There seems to be a lot of songs that go into Streets well.

I'm still hoping for "Wake Up Dead Man" into "Streets".  Out of the ones the band has done so far, though, I'd say I like either "Please" (Popmart) or "MLK" (Superbowl) the best.

My favourite has to be All I want is you. Watch it on the Slane Castle Dvd, Amazing.

I really enjoyed the combo of Bullet the Blue Sky into Running to Stand Still into Where the Streets Have No Name into Pride on Zoo Tv.  I love it when the songs seque together like that.

I think COBL would be better being after Streets; it's a little faster tempo-wise.

Just imagine the ending riff of "Streets" going straight into the build-up at the beginning of COBL.  8)

I have to agree with you on that one. The Boston version is by far the best in my opinion. But there are a few seconds. Does this one count?  The version on the Rattle and Hum DVD (JT tour), which of course is the song by itself with nothing in front of it.

That's my favorite lead-in as well.  I also really like Bad and All I Want Is You leading into Streets.

I didn't think Pride fit will going into Streets on the last tour.  Maybe they'll use something off of the new album?

Agreed MEMORY_MAN. I love this sequence. The ZooTV shows and sets had many highlights. The Zoo Station entrance, the performances of Until The End Of The World & Ultraviloet......lets bring some of this energy back in 2009!

I like "Bad / 40" leading into Streets as it did on the Elevation tour.
"Please" into Streets was another solid transition.
"Running to Stand Still" leading into Streets on the Zoo TV tour was another good one.
Going further back for the Lovetown tour "All I Want is You" leading into Streets was quite good also.

All I Want is You into Streets like on the Slane DVD.  Seamless and heartbreaking.

Surprised no-one said Lemon yet, have it like the All I Want Is You lead-in from the Elevation tour (Slane Castle?) but instead of "All I want is yooouuuuu" have the "midnight is where the day begins" thing from Zoo TV
